Giving animals a voice

Some were born to be artists, some to be surgeons while there are others who were born to make a difference in the world.

Meet my friend Anna who devoted her life for animal welfare. She had been though a lot since she became part of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). She had to wade through flood water to save pets left by their owners during the onslaught of  Habagat and such other typhoons that brought devastation to the country. She faced financial woes when they had to put up, PARC, the rehabilitation place along Katipunan. She faced angry dog fight promoters when she along with other PAWS members and animal rights advocates  pushed for the Republic Act No. 8485, an act to promote animal welfare in the Philippines in 1998 (which hopefully gets amended when Congress assumes its session in June.)

People like her do not get paid much or at all to do this. They do it because they are passionate about their love for animals and will do what they can to assure that someone is looking out for our four legged friends.

**this video was made for my class and I used Together We Can Change the World to end my interview because I felt it was the most appropriate song for what she and PAWS do. Anna together with my friend LA Ascalon are changing the world one paw at a time**

  2. Well said. It is always heartening to read about people who devote themselves to animal welfare.

  3. Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to grasp a lot about this, like you wrote the e-book in
it or something. I think that you simply can do with some percent to power
the message home a bit, however instead of that,
that is wonderful blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
